Alfredo Cáceres was a psychiatrist and close friend of Joaquín Torres-García. In 1941, he published a book titled Joaquín Torres García, estudio psicólogico y síntesis de critica. He and his wife, the poet Esther de Cáceres, were collectors and supporters of Torres-García and the artists of the Taller.
