Signed and dated lower right: J. Torres GARCIA 1920

Torres-García moved into a studio near 14th Street that he rented from the artist Walter Pach. He described the street as "the popular 14th Street, one of the most typical of New York (la popular calle 14, una de las más típicas de Nueva York)" (Historia de mi vida p. 151).
