Won the prize for painting during the 1944, VII Salón de Bellas Artes in Montevideo.
This work had been sent to Bogotá for a Pan-American exhibition to be held in conjunction with the IX Pan American-Conference. However, the exhibition was canceled following the April 9, 1948 Bogotazo, during which time a number of paintings sent from Uruguay, Guatemala, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Honduras were lost.
